Returning Store Purchases

Live Goods

Because of the delicate nature of live flowers, plants, vegetables, herbs, trees & shrubs it's impossible for us to be certain they've been properly cared for once they have been sold and leave our possession. As such, we are only able to accept returns of ALL live goods within 24 hours of your original purchase date and time. Please understand this policy is in place solely to make sure that our plants remain happy and healthy and will thrive in another customers home after you return them.

In addition to this return policy be sure to read over our Plant Guarantee should you have any questions about what is and what isn't guaranteed as it relates to live goods, plants that you purchase and plants that we install for you.

Hard Goods

We offer a vast selection of gardening supplies, tools, accessories, gift items, birding supplies, planters and yard art. We offer these product lines to make your gardening and shopping experience more pleasurable and rewarding. Most of these items are not perishable and do receive basic care while they are in our control. If you have trouble with a product, please don't hesitate to contact us and we can help point you in the right direction. If we believe it's a manufacturer defect, we can help make sure you know who to contact for a remedy.

All customers have the opportunity to return "hardgood" items purchased at one of our retail outlets within 7 days of their purchase when it's accompanied with a receipt. Returns will only be made when all the packaging and parts remain in tact or if there is an obvious defect. Please inspect your purchases as soon as possible to avoid missing the 7 day window. All bagged goods (fertilizers, soil amendments, lawn care products) can be returned as long as the packaging has not been opened. These returns must also be completed in the 7 day window. 

Please note that we can not guarantee the performance and/or results of these products whether they're expected or implied. If you have any questions regarding the use of products available in our store we will make every effort to clarify how to use them and what you should expect. Returns of pesticides after the packaging has been opened is not allowed under any circumstance. 

To avoid any additional fees, please include all original packing materials, manuals, and accessories with the product. All merchandise must be returned in its original packaging and in sellable condition. Wearable items must be unworn. If the product was opened or used, restocking fees may apply. 

Please be sure to hold onto your paper receipt or ask us to email you a copy at checkout. This allows us to refund your transactions more easily. If you are a frequent flower club member, and provided your information during checkout, we will be able to look up your order for you.

Returning Website Purchases

Returns of merchandise purchased from this website may be made within 30 days of receipt for a full refund of the cost of the merchandise. The total of your return will be credited to the credit card or payment account that you used at the time of your purchase minus shipping and handling.

If the product you received was damaged, defective, or if the wrong item was shipped to you please let us know as soon as possible and we'll do our best to cover the cost of return shipping if we can confirm it was no fault of your own.

To avoid any additional fees, please include all original packing materials, manuals, and accessories with the product. All merchandise must be returned in its original packaging and in sellable condition. Wearable items must be unworn. If the product was opened or used, restocking fees may apply. 

A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number is necessary for all returns of website purchases. You can contact us via email at hello@deckers-nursery.com or call us at (631) 261-1148 to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. 

If there is any other problem with your order (ie. missing or broken parts), we will remedy the situation immediately. For LTL freight shipments, or other non "common carrier" packages (i.e. USPS, UPS, FedEx), damages must be noted on the Bill of Lading at the time of delivery. Decker's Nursery cannot be responsible for lost returns. We recommend using an insured and prepaid method for your return such as UPS ground or insured USPS for proof of delivery.

Please note: Custom made to order products (ie. cast stone fountains, planters, urns, statuary and birdbaths) cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason. If there is an issue with any custom made to order product you receive please do not hesitate to contact us so we can correct the situation as best as we can and as quickly as possible.

Cancelling An Order

Our manufacturers do their very best to ensure that once your order is received it is processed immediately. Some of our products are custom stained or custom created and many manufacturers have already begun the manufacturing process immediately after they receive your order. We will do our very best to work with the manufacturer with regards to any cancellation requests. That said, due to the nature of our products we reserve the right to apply a restocking fee to orders that are requested to be cancelled. This fee may range for each product and may be assessed at up to 25% of the purchase price of the product.

Orders canceled after product has been picked up by the shipping carrier, or orders that are refused at the time of delivery become the property of Decker's Nursery and may result in forfeiture of product and/or funds. Final decisions on the disposition of refused product will be made at the sole discretion of Decker's Nursery. Please contact customer service with any questions regarding this policy.
