Heartleaf philodendron is a popular houseplant because it is very easy to grow, in fact it’s also known as the ‘Sweetheart Plant’.
This philodendron has heart-shaped, glossy leaves that emerge brown and quickly turn green growing on long, slender vines that can grow to 3 ft. Pinch back this beauty anytime to help it branch out and create a bushy and full plant. Always pinch above a leaf node, (the place where a leaf is attached to the stem) and a new stem will grow from that node.
Despite its tropical origins, this beautiful plant is tolerant of dry air, although it appreciates the occasional misting. The heartleaf philodendron will thrive in a small pot for years with little care.
